LASS starts the "Let the Love Flow!" Campaign


LASS is now, formally starting its fundrainsig Campaign "In times of COVID-19, Let the Love Flow!" (“Em tempos de COVID-19, Multiplique o Amor!”)

The COVID-19 pandemic exposed the fragility of many Cape Verdean families, a situation that is becoming more and more desperate on main island, Santiago, where the situation worsens now by the day, with a daily average of 10 new cases.

Covid-19: Infected people in Cabo Verde are mostly between 20 and 50 years old

According to official data, as of today, MAY 5, the total number of cases registered in the country since 19 March is now 175, distributed over the islands of Santiago (116), Boavista (56) and São Vicente (3)..

With regard to demographics, men are the most affected, with 51% of the total (89), while women (86) represent 49% of patients in the country. 

State of Emergency is extended in Santiago and Boavista



The President of the Republic of Cabo Verde, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, has just announced today, May 1, 2020, that the State of Emergency which was to be lifted tomorrow, will be extended for another 12 days in the Islands of Santiago and Boavista.

It is worth noting recalled that on 17 April he had already extended it for another 15 days, which would end on 2 May. So, this is the second extension that the Government is announcing.

PAUL-COVID19 Program Starts


Due to the social distance measures resulting from the declaration of the State of Emergency in Cabo Verde, which led to the shutdown of almost all economic activities, many families are now deprived of access to basic food supplies. Due to this fact, the Liga Adventista de Solidariedade Social (LASS) started the PAUL-COVID19 Program, on April 23.
